  • Improve performance in school
  • Stay healthy overall
  • Manage stress better
  • Improve their behavior

Step 2: Pack a Bag of Snacks

  • Nutritious lunch includes lean meats, whole grains, fruits and vegetables

  • Improve your child's ability to focus and concentrate. A healthy breakfast that includes protein, dairy and whole grains is directly related to positive behavior throughout the day.

  • End the day with a family dinner. Eating with family promotes better health and well-being. It may help prevent fatigue, improve mood, maintain weight and improve brain function and aid digestion.

Step 3: Prepare for The Harsh Weather

Teach your child to sing the happy birthday song twice (about 20 seconds) while you wash. Make sure your child has hand sanitizer when hand washing is not possible. Teach them to keep their hands away from their face and to cough or sneeze into their hand or shoulder.

Step 4: Stay Tuned in To Your Child's Mental Health

Over the years many children and adolescents have experienced mental health struggles. It's important to let them know that it's okay to talk about how they're feeling. Be alert for any changes in behavior that worry you or for any signs of anxiety, depression, or distress. Try prioritizing family meals and exercise breaks, like going for a walk together. These can be great opportunities to talk.
